Happy Fall, Y’all! We have officially made it to colorful leaves under foot, football games, hunting, and that magical, crisp chill in the air! And with this glorious change in the temperature, comes an equally glorious change in our wardrobes! I am by no means a style expert, but I have always loved clothes; specifically, the way in which you are able to convey and express your unique individuality through an
outfit! The following pieces are simple basics that I love to use to add a pop of color, dimension, or texture to any outfit during the autumnal season!
The Vest. From Military-inspired, to Puffy; the Vest is the most versatile layering piece to have in your Work Wardrobe! As the temps lower, you can then add a scarf, pair with an oxford under a sweater – the whole nine yards right on into February!
The Scarf. The love I have for scarves knows no bounds, and my scarf collection rivals that of my shoe collection. From light and silk in October, to wool and cozy in December, the scarf is my favorite way to accessorize! Scarves make layering effortless, and are a terrific conversation piece!
The Cardigan. This is your go-to piece for those inevitable warm fall days, when you need just a light something thrown on over your outfit to get you through the cool morning. Cardigans are also a fantastic way to add print and color to a monochromatic outfit! The cardigan is the perfect alternative to a blazer … and if scarves really aren’t your thing!
The Boot. This is a given! Who hasn’t been dying to get out their favorite riding boot, or bootie, since that mid-July cold snap?
The Trouser. This one may surprise you, as I mostly live in an ankle-length pant, but as the temperature dips, I start gravitating toward a tailored trouser. Fit is the key! Paired with a fab heel, you will appear taller and leaner – and who doesn’t love that?! From Burgundy to Indigo, Fall is the best time to experiment with beautiful, rich colors!
