How exciting! Thank you so much for reaching out to me, sister! I believe a capsule-like wardrobe would be your best place to start, as this would create the best foundation for you as you make your way back into the routine of office attire, and it will make adding new fabulous additions to your workday rotation so easy!

Let's start building your foundation:
Tops: a white blouse, a black blouse, and a striped (and)/or floral blouse
Two Dresses: black shift, and a patterned dress
Bottoms: black skirt, a black slack, and a patterned slack
From here you can grab a jean jacket, a knit sweater in your favorite color, and a cardigan for those chilly days at the office!

The first place to go is Old Navy! This store has made shopping for work-wear a complete breeze! All images below are clickable links to the item, and most are on sale, or within a reasonable price-point - You know your girl is a BARGAINISTA! I won't steer ya wrong! xx

The Tops:
Fitted, structured, relaxed, always choose fabrics that work for your lifestyle, and that will aid in creating multiple outfits! Let's quick-style the classic white button-down: this can be worn alone, under a sweater, under a dress, under a vest, under a belted scarf... the possibilities abound!

Since I know you love a skinny, I am going to suggest Old Navy's Pixie Pants! These are a fabulous, mid-rise skinny, cotton/spandex blend, that feel like you have hit work-wear PJ gold! I chose two options for you, a black, and a denim/twill with polka dots! Both are extremely versatile, and can be worn year-round! These come in at (or around, depending upon if they are running a sale, which they seem to ALWAYS be doing!) $35!

Below I have linked up my favorite Shift Dress - CURRENTLY ON SALE! Along with a floral scarf, and a suede jacket! I chose this color in particular because it will look FAB on you with your gorgeous blonde locks! And total bonus, these would all be so chic together as one outfit!
Don't be afraid to mix & match patterns! That is what make life FUN!

Last, but always first in my book: ACCESSORIES! Throw pops of your beautiful personality into your wardrobe! Not only does this let people know who you are within a glance, it also brings out your most confident and true self! A serious job is no excuse to not rocking what you love! Be bold in your jewelry, scarves, cardigans, and shoes - not all at once, of course!

I cannot wait to see what you pick up, I know you are going to look amazing! Thank you so much, Nina, for letting me feature your question on the Blog, and most of all, for you support! I appreciate you very much! Now get to shopping & slayin' it at your new gig!

Ask AMG | The Trends of Fall

>>Happy Fall, Y'all! {#Finally}

My favorite time of year! Football, Hunting, Football, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Football, BUT seriously: THE CLOTHES, the clothes are the clincher!

Nothing goes better with a Pumpkin Spice Latte than a Leather Riding Boot...Or so the cliche goes!
I must admit one thing, right now: I, AMG, have NEVER had a PSL! No, never. It doesn't even sound appealing. I know, am I even to be trusted!? The only time I ever change from my VentiSoyToffeeNutLatte (and you have to say it just like that!) is when I start adding "WithOnePumpPeppermintNoWhip" (and again, you have to say it just like that, because for whatever reason, they believe that once you add Peppermint, you also must add Whip. NO!) the day after Thanksgiving. Squee! Just talking about this has me giddy with Autumnal anticipation!

But first, I have to say something else, and I am sure you have all been thinking it too, but I think someone needs to speak for all of us and say: Pinterest is killing the 'Trend.' To me, this is not a bad thing, to those chain stores whose only mode of survival is a revolving trend, they are circling the drain! We all have Pinterest, which is a modern marvel in-and-of itself, although it is the murderer of the magazine. And I LOVE magazines, I have numerous subscriptions; in fact, Magazines have always been a major love of mine, I grew up getting Vogue at the checkout counter with my Memal at a very young age, and no matter how much of a tomboy I became, I always loved the way Magazines made me feel and what they taught me about being an individual. The Magazine is a marriage of  clothes and lifestyle, encompassed in brilliant writing that sets everything into motion. I hate the decline of the Magazine, more than I hate the decline of the Newspaper.

Anyway, now that you know my entire life story, obviously I am nothing if not Passionate, just know that now....it will stay the same or it will get worse, there is no bettering the passionate outbursts of love and randomness. THANK GOD!

Back to Pinterest:
Pinterest is a now a database that is several years old, and if you use it like I do; as a Search Engine, you can put in "Military Vests" and receive results that you have no idea the actual date in which this Blogger/Model/Store actually posted the item to Pinterest. This is why when you find something you are drooling-in-love over, and when you click on it, you find it has been sold out since 2013. So what you have are items that started as a "trend", that have just stayed popular, due to the accessibility that Pinterest gives the items by never deleting anything from their database. Military Vests, Skinny Jeans, Leggings, Floral, Boyfriend Anything ...

Wow, this has turned into something completely different, huh? You just wanted to know what I am buying! Sorry, girlfrand! You know how I am!

HERE ARE MY FAVE THINGS FOR FALL: (As Always -- Keeping in mind this is coming from someone whose wardrobe is 85% Basic/Classic and 15% New/Trend...)

LEATHER!
PEARL DETAILS!
CAMO!
VELVET!
GREY!
MIXED PRINTS!
SCARVES!

More on all of this in the very near future on my STYLE page!

>>Hello! This question made me do a few chair spins and book shimmies! I have had so much fun looking back through my Goodreads, Audible, and personal shelves to bring you these recommendations! At first, I honestly immediately thought of Twilight. Twilight got so many people back into reading! But, since I know you, I know that isn't your taste! But, I wanted to mention it, because I wanted to go on to say, for those reading this, who may relate to this question: If you have loved a movie in the past 5-10 years, go see if it was based off of a book! That is a sure-fire way of knowing that you will enjoy picking up a book again! ...And the book is always better! I had to!

Onto the Recs: I decided to choose super-engaging reads with well-written and relate-able characters! Hopefully you find these to be pleasing, page-turners, that have you back in the swing of Reading in no time! Enjoy!

Attachments by Rainbow Rowell
Beth and Jennifer are Work-Besties whose hilarious and true-to-life daily emails are monitored by Lincoln, the IT Security guy, who becomes completely enamored with Beth. Who has no clue who he is, or that he knows so much about her. It's adorable!

The Woman in Cabin 10 by Ruth Ware
How about a little mystery? Lo, a travel journalist gets a fabulous assignment to take a maiden voyage on a luxury cruise ship, sounds dreamy, right? But when she is the sole witness to a woman being thrown overboard, chaos ensues. The next morning, everyone is accounted for, and suspicions of Lo's accountability run rampant.

Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty
I saved the best for last! Y'all. I'm going to leave this one to the blurb, because I'm afraid if I start telling you about this absolute GEM OF A BOOK, I will go on to tell you every wonderful, suspenseful, and dazzling detail!!
"Big Little Lies is a brilliant take on ex-husbands and second wives, mothers and daughters, schoolyard scandal, and the dangerous little lies we tell ourselves just to survive." It is everything. Even my husband loved it!

Hey y'all!

I am beyond ecstatic to welcome you to the first installment of Ask AMG! This has been a dream of mine, perhaps it was growing up reading advice columns in the newspaper and in magazines, or most-likely the outpouring of questions I have gotten over the course of my adulthood regarding Style, Books, Manners...Life! Truly nothing makes my heart happier, or makes me feel more full!, than being able to outfit, offer recommendations, and do my best help to those who seek my direction in any way, shape, or form!

am so blessed to have such amazing people in my life who ask my advice; it means so much more to me than anyone will ever know! Thank you! You have made this lil dream of mine come true!

>>My first question is regarding Book Recommendations! She has stated that she recently read Famous in Love, and The Zookeeper's Wife. Below I have included the Publisher's blurbs for both books mentioned, for those of you who has maybe not read either of these novels.

Famous in Love by Rebecca Serle: "The romantic story of a girl who gets plucked from obscurity to star in the next major feature film franchise based on a book and the ensuing love triangles she gets entangled in on—-and off screen. ... In this coming-of-age romance inspired by the kind of celeb hookups that get clever nicknames and a million page views, Paige must figure out who she is – and who she wants – while the whole world watches."

The Zookeeper's Wife by Diane Ackerman: "1939: the Germans have invaded Poland. The keepers of the Warsaw zoo, Jan and Antonina Zabinski, survive the bombardment of the city, only to see the occupiers ruthlessly kill many of their animals. The Nazis then carry off the prized specimens to Berlin for their program to create the “purest” breeds, much as they saw themselves as the purest human race. Opposed to all the Nazis represented, the Zabinskis risked their lives by hiding Jews in the now-empty animal cages, saving as many as three hundred people from extermination. Acclaimed, best-selling author Diane Ackerman, fascinated both by the Zabinskis’ courage and by Antonina’s incredible sensitivity to all living beings, tells a moving and dramatic story of the power of empathy and the strength of love."

My Recommendations

My first pick for you, also involves quite the Love Triangle: Girl, Boy, Job. This hilarious and heartwarming story revolving around two co-workers who take hating each other to a whole new level. That level? Yeah, it might be Love Level: 1,000! I love a good Rom-Com book, and this one checks all the boxes!
The Hating Game by Sally Thorne, "Lucy Hutton and Joshua Templeman hate each other. Not dislike. Not begrudgingly tolerate. Hate. And they have no problem displaying their feelings through a series of ritualistic passive aggressive maneuvers as they sit across from each other, executive assistants to co-CEOs of a publishing company. Lucy can’t understand Joshua’s joyless, uptight, meticulous approach to his job. Joshua is clearly baffled by Lucy’s overly bright clothes, quirkiness, and Pollyanna attitude.
Now up for the same promotion, their battle of wills has come to a head and Lucy refuses to back down when their latest game could cost her her dream job…But the tension between Lucy and Joshua has also reached its boiling point, and Lucy is discovering that maybe she doesn’t hate Joshua. And maybe, he doesn’t hate her either. Or maybe this is just another game."

My second pick is a work of page-turnery, family-drama, spanning many decades and many secrets! Fair Warning: You will lose sleep!
Butterfly Island by Corina Bomann, "Diana Wagenbach is the sole survivor in a withering family tree fraught with secrets. When the first in a trail of clues is handed down to Diana by her great-aunt on her deathbed, along with a plea to assuage their family’s guilt by revealing all, Diana obliges. She follows the clues—a picture here, a letter there, a pressed frangipani flower in a book—that carry her away from her philandering husband in Berlin to a charming manor in England and all the way to a tea plantation in Sri Lanka. Diana unravels the dramatic tale of her great-great-grandmother, Grace Tremayne, with the aid of Jonathan Singh, a local historian and writer—and someone with whom she feels a deep bond that sparks into romance. As Grace’s tragic past in exotic colonial Ceylon is revealed and the family’s sins come to light, Diana finds inspiration in her ancestor’s courage and begins to rethink what happiness—and love—is worth, and how the surest route to peace is in setting the truth free."

My third pick is a cautionary tale of what real life with a Rock Star may be like! Humor. Wit. Heartbreak. Nick Hornby can do no wrong! He is one of my Top 10 Authors, and I think you will really enjoy this one!

Juliet, Naked by Nick Hornby, "Annie loves Duncan — or thinks she does. Duncan loves Annie, but then, all of a sudden, he doesn't. Duncan really loves Tucker Crowe, a reclusive Dylanish singer-songwriter who stopped making music ten years ago. Annie stops loving Duncan, and starts getting her own life. In doing so, she initiates an e-mail correspondence with Tucker, and a connection is forged between two lonely people who are looking for more out of what they've got. Tucker's been languishing (and he's unnervingly aware of it), living in rural Pennsylvania with what he sees as his one hope for redemption amid a life of emotional and artistic ruin -- his young son, Jackson. But then there's also the new material he's about to release to the world: an acoustic, stripped-down version of his greatest album, Juliet — entitled, Juliet, Naked. What happens when a washed-up musician looks for another chance? And miles away, a restless, childless woman looks for a change? Juliet, Naked is a powerfully engrossing, humblingly humorous novel about music, love, loneliness, and the struggle to live up to one's promise."
